Google's Android Enterprise Migration Methods

Overview

Two types of Android Enterprise enrollment method exist:

  • Work Profile which creates a container where apps can be managed.
  • Fully Managed which manages the whole device.

Any other management types are variations of those two.

Work Profile

For the Work Profile configuration, the UEM Target Tenant needs a configured Google account.
Please refer to your official UEM Target Tenant guidelines to ensure proper compatibility.

Fully Managed

For the Fully Managed settings, the UEM Target Tenant needs a configured Google account.
Please refer to your official UEM Target Tenant guidelines to ensure proper compatibility.

During the Migration creation, select "Yes" for the Do you want to Fully Manage these devices? option in the Source page of the form

Warning

Do not forget that the end-users' devices will be fully wiped (factory reset). You must ensure that end-users personal data have been properly saved prior to proceed.
